Getting
to know your Fire Wide Receiver and Linebacker
Tymere Zimmerman.
The game of football
has made Tymere Zimmerman the inspirational
and hard working person and player
he is today. His positive attitude
has contributed to the success of
his team and it seems all of this
hard work is starting to pay off.
Being a first year Louisville Fire
player is never a easy transition
but Zimmerman has managed to steal
the spotlight winning the JLS Ironman
Award against Mahoning Valley Thunder
on May 17 and against the Lexington
Horsemen on May 31. His promising
stats for the season include: 30 receptions
for 197 yards and three touchdowns
and 18.5 tackles with two interceptions.
What college
did you attend?

What
position did you play during your college
football career?
Wide receiver. I played
both offense and defense in college as well
as the Louisville Fire.
What
was the biggest adjustment made from your
college football career to your life of arena
football?
The biggest change for me was the
size of the field. I had to revaluate my game.
When you are playing outdoors the field is
bigger and have a lot more time to perform.
When the field is smaller your actions have
to be quicker and that is a hard adjustment.
What
is your favorite aspect of the game?
I will play
offense or defense. Either of these positions
are alright with me as long as I am playing
the game. I think that defense helps your
game for both positions though,
Biggest
role model?
My uncle and my brother. My brother was a
huge support because he was a good athlete
and his time was cut short so he always tried
to be my encouragement to do the right thing
and stay focused. My uncle was amazing. He
was always there for my brother and I.
What
do you think is the most challenging aspect
of the game?
It is always hard to juggle life but staying
positive for myself and my team is the hardest
aspect. I try my hardest to “encourage other
players and make them realize that there will
always be another game”. Keeping my team in
high spirits after a loss is never easy.
What
is your biggest accomplishment?
WIth out a doubt, “playing for Louisville
Fire”. Being a part of this team is the final
result to what I have worked so hard for al
of these years. I have an amazing team and
coach. This is exactly where I want to be.
What
would be one of the most memorable and special
moments through your whole football career?
I think seeing where I started and where I
finally ended up was the most memorable moment.
When I realized that the hard work had payed
off through a series of events I knew how
lucky I was. It also was nice becoming the
number 1 receiver and number 12 defensive
back as well.
What
is a interesting fact about yourself?
I love to watch cartoons and I am the worst
dancer in the world.
