Louisville, KY – Each season the Fire
run a special promotion were Fire fans
can buy a jersey right off of their favorite
players backs. Last season the Fire wore
red jerseys in honor of Special Olympics
but this year the Fire are going green.
The Fire are wearing green jerseys for
Louisville’s own Brightside. Moore Security
is proud to sponsor the jerseys for this
season’s auction.
“We have enjoyed working with Brightside
and we know this event will be a success,”
stated Stacey Groneck, Director of Corporate
Sales. “I hope that we will be able to
continue a partnership in the future.”
In addition to all of the proceeds from
the jersey auction, the Fire are going
to donate a $1.00 from each ticket sold
to city employees to Brightside.
Brightside was launched in 1986 by Mayor
Jerry Abramson and Brightside is uniting
people in clean and green activities to
beautify the city and foster community
pride. It is unique because it functions
as a public/private partnership, merging
the resources of the Metro government
with those of private citizens. All of
the Brightside programs are run entirely
on privately donated dollars. All of their
accomplishments were made possible with
the support from their donors, sponsors,
and volunteers. For more information about
Brightside visit their website www.louisvilleky.gov/Brightside.
The jersey auction will take place right
after the game on the field. Last season
the Fire raised $3,300 for the Special
Olympics. All 19 jerseys sold for at least
$100 and the highest jersey was former
Fire defensive back Nate Green’s for $500.
Former Fire quarterback Joel Steele’s,
Georgia Force star Tiger Jone’s, and former
kicker Dave Hendrix’s jerseys sold for
more than $300.
The Fire take on the Albany Conquest
on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 7:00 PM.
The Fire will also be having a tailgate
party on the back side of Freedom Hall
in Parking Lot E. There will be $1.00
beer and hot dog specials, as well as,
inflatables for children and B96.5. The
first 2,000 fans in attendance will receive
