ASSIGNED TWO FORMER CARDINAL OPPONENTS
Louisville, KY-The Louisville
Fire Arena Football team has been assigned
Rayshawn Bolden (6’5, 215 lbs., West Virginia
University), Brandon Register (5’10, 195
lbs., University Alabama-Birmingham), and
Perry Kyles (5’11, 185 lbs, Tennessee Tech).
Bolden and Register were a part of teams
that competed against the University of
Louisville.
Register played for the Blazers
of UAB from 2003-06. Over his career at
UAB he acquired 123 tackles, three interceptions,
and 2 fumble recoveries as a defensive back.
In 2007 he spent time with the Washington
Redskins and was in training camp with the
Georgia Force of the Arena Football League
at the beginning of 2008.
“Brandon [Register] is a talented
defensive back that has the capability of
making it at the next level,” said Head
Coach Tommy Johnson in regards to Register
and his potential. “His time with the Fire
should be the beginning of a successful
arena career.”
Bolden played for West Virginia
University from 2003-06. During his time
with the Mountaineers he averaged 22 yards
a reception.
“Rayshawn [Bolden] is a big
target that has big play capabilities,”
stated Assistant Head Coach and Director
of Player Personnel George Eskridge when
asked about Bolden’s impact. “He has big
game experience in regular season and bowl
games.”
Kyles, who played for the
Golden Eagles Tennessee Tech, was primarily
used on the defensive side of the ball as
a corner back but spent time on special
teams. He had 127 tackles, five interceptions,
and 177 kick return yards during his time
with the Golden Eagles.
“Perry [Kyles] is a duel threat
on special teams and defensively,” replied
Johnson when asked about Kyles, “which is
a valuable commodity in this league.”
The Louisville Fire will kickoff
the 2008 season against the Iowa Barnstormers
on March 29. Season tickets for the 2008
