ASSIGNED VETERAN AND CARDINAL
Louisville, KY-The Louisville
Fire Arena Football team were assigned Keller
Speaks (6’3, 260 lbs., Jacksonville State
University) and Jerry Spencer (6’3, 320
lbs., University of Louisville).
Speaks joined the team in
the middle of the 2007 season. He played
in seven games and had 11.5 tackles, three
forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and
2.5 sacks.
“In his short time with us last season Keller
[Speaks] proved that he could make a difference
on the defensive line,” stated Head Coach
Tommy Johnson. “We expect big things from
him this season with a year of experience.”
Spencer is returning to Louisville
for the first time since 2003. While with
the Cardinals he was a staple on the offensive
line. Spencer has played in the arenafootball2
league for the past two seasons. In 2006
he was a member of the Stockton Lightning
and in 2007 he played for the ArenaCup 8
champions Tulsa Talons.
“Jerry has experience in this
league and has been apart of a championship
team at every level he has played,” stated
Johnson.
The Louisville Fire will kickoff
the 2008 season against the Iowa Barnstormers
