MORE PLAYERS ASSIGNED TO FIRE ROSTER
Louisville, KY-The Louisville
Fire Arena Football team has been assigned
quarterback Ryan O’Hara (6’6, 237 lbs.,
University of Arizona), defensive linemen
Randy Jackson (6’1, 285 lbs., Miles College),
and wide receiver Brent Craft (5’11, 185
lbs., Georgetown University).
O’Hara began his college career in 2003
after redshirting at the University of Arizona
in 2002. In 2003 he appeared in five games
with one start throwing for 341 yards on
33-of-78 passes. In 2003 he also lettered
in basketball for the Wildcats. O’Hara left
school after his brother had a kidney transplant.
In 2005, O’Hara returned to the field in
Junior College playing one season for Scottsdale
(Ariz.) Community College where in eight
games he threw for 1,322 yards, eight touchdowns,
and earned All-Conference honors. O’Hara
was the starting quarterback for the University
of Central Oklahoma in 2006 and 2007. He
threw for 3,045 yards on 268 completions
and had 17 touchdowns.
“O’Hara is very athletic and
has a strong arm,” stated Assistant Head
Coach Director of Player Personnel George
Eskridge. “He possesses good size at 6’6
and has played in some big games.”
Jackson is an offensive lineman
that played college ball at Miles College
in Alabama. In two seasons, 2004 and 2005,
he started in 22 games.
“Jackson is a big guy that
has good speed and size. He will be able
to get pressure on the quarterback off of
the end,” replied Head Coach Tommy Johnson
when asked about Jackson.
Craft played for Georgetown
University from 2003-2007. During his junior
season, Craft ranked second in the Patriot
League in receptions per game with 4.36.
In 2007 he ranked third on the team in receptions
with 277 yards and 29 receptions.
“Craft is a guy that is similar
to Wes Welker,” commented Eskridge. “He
has great hands and is a very good route
runner.”
The Louisville Fire will kickoff
the 2008 season against the Iowa Barnstormers
