RECEIVER ASSIGNED TO FIRE
Louisville, KY-Tymere Zimmerman
(6’2, 210 lbs, Newberry College) has been
assigned to the Louisville Fire Arena Football
team.
Zimmerman played for the Indians
of Newberry College from 2003-2006. He had
250 receptions, 3,051 receiving yards and
40 touchdowns. While playing in the South
Atlantic Conference, Zimmerman ranked in
the top ten in touchdowns (fifth in 2003,
seventh in 2004, and first in 2005 and 2006)
and receptions per game (fourth in 2003,
second in 2004, and first in 2005 and 2006).
Zimmerman was named to the first team All-Southern
Atlantic Conference in 2003, 2004, and 2005.
During his senior season in 2006 he was
named to the All Southeast Region Second
Teams by Daktronics and The Don Hansen Football
Gazette and All Southeast Region First Team
by D2football.com. He also set the SAC record
for career receptions (250 receptions) and
touchdown receptions (40 touchdowns). Currently
Zimmerman holds the career receiving records
at Newberry College (250 receptions, 3,051
yards, and 40 touchdowns).
“Tymere [Zimmerman] provides
an explosive talent that has the potential
to make an immediate impact on the field,”
stated Head Coach Tommy Johnson when asked
about Zimmerman. “He has the speed, hands,
and knowledge we look for in a receiver.”
The Louisville Fire will kickoff
the 2008 season against the Iowa Barnstormers
